Durch die spezifisch hausärztlichen Möglichkeiten, eine Vertrauensbeziehung zu Patienten aufzubauen und so die Krankheitsbewältigung zu fördern, sind Hausärzte wichtige Interaktionspartner. Um sie in dieser Aufgabe zu unterstützen, werden grundlegende Aspekte der Psychosozialen Onkologie beschrieben (»Krebspersönlichkeit«, psychosoziale Morbidität). Darüber hinaus geht es um konkrete Möglichkeiten, wie Hausärzte psychoonkologisch hilfreich sein können (Aufklärung, Gesprächsführung, Angehörigenbetreuung, Kontaktpflege zu anderen Behandlern) und wohin sie Patienten unter Umständen zu spezifisch psychotherapeutischer oder psychosozialer Mitbehandlung vermitteln können. Summary Psycho-social oncology deals with the correlation between somatic, psychic and social factors in the context of cancer diseases. Because of their specific opportunities to build up a trustful relationship with their patients, general practitioners can make an important contribution towards helping their patients to come to terms with the disease.
