Die Bedrohungslage verändert sich in vielen Dimensionen: Neben neuen Plattformen und Angriffsvektoren verändert sich die Erwartungshaltung und das Verhalten der IT-Nutzer fundamental. The search engine Ecosia.org takes advantage of this situation by pursuing an IT-enabled green business model. Enterprises following this concept have the objective to make a positive environmental contribution. Ecosia contributes to the environment by donating most of its revenues to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). Regarding this, the question arises if green business models possess a potential for success in the search engine market. To describe the business case of Ecosia we apply case study research and survey search engine users. The findings provide implications on the relevance and impact of IT-enabled green business models in the scope of information systems (IS) research. This paper is an initial starting point for further research on IT-enabled green business models in IS."],["dc.identifier.doi","10.1007/978-3-642-27488-6_13"],["dc.identifier.uri","https://resolver.sub.uni-goettingen.de/purl?gro-2/61716"],["dc.language.iso","en"],["dc.relation.isbn","978-3-642-27487-9"],["dc.relation.isbn","978-3-642-27488-6"],["dc.relation.ispartof","Green Business Process Management"],["dc.title","Ecosia.org: The Business Case of a Green Search Engine"],["dc.type","book_chapter"],["dc.type.internalPublication","yes"],["dspace.entity.type","Publication"]]Details DOI
