PROCEDURES: In this retrospective study 20 eyes have been treated with BBG-assisted macular hole surgery. After a follow-up of 6 months, the functional and anatomical outcomes have been analyzed. RESULTS: The mean preoperative best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) was 0.7 logMAR units (mean ± SD 0.66 ± 0.27). After 3 months, the mean BCVA increased not significantly to 0.4 (0.54 ± 0.30), but a significant improvement to 0.2 logMAR units (0.28 ± 0.23) could be detected after 6 months compared to baseline (p < 0.01). Primary macular hole closure after a single surgery was found in 17 of 20 eyes. CONCLUSION AND MESSAGE: BBG exhibits sufficient staining qualities and safety profile leading to a significant functional improvement after successful macular hole surgery."],["dc.identifier.doi","10.1159/000351658"],["dc.identifier.fs","596791"],["dc.identifier.pmid","23887050"],["dc.identifier.purl","https://resolver.sub.uni-goettingen.de/purl?gs-1/10935"],["dc.identifier.uri","https://resolver.sub.uni-goettingen.de/purl?gro-2/58148"],["dc.language.iso","en"],["dc.notes.intern","Merged from goescholar"],["dc.relation.issn","1423-0267"],["dc.rights","Goescholar"],["dc.rights.uri","https://goescholar.uni-goettingen.de/licenses"],["dc.subject.mesh","Adult"],["dc.subject.mesh","Aged"],["dc.subject.mesh","Basement Membrane"],["dc.subject.mesh","Coloring Agents"],["dc.subject.mesh","Female"],["dc.subject.mesh","Fluorescein Angiography"],["dc.subject.mesh","Follow-Up Studies"],["dc.subject.mesh","Humans"],["dc.subject.mesh","Male"],["dc.subject.mesh","Middle Aged"],["dc.subject.mesh","Postoperative Complications"],["dc.subject.mesh","Retinal Perforations"],["dc.subject.mesh","Retrospective Studies"],["dc.subject.mesh","Rosaniline Dyes"],["dc.subject.mesh","Staining and Labeling"],["dc.subject.mesh","Tomography, Optical Coherence"],["dc.subject.mesh","Treatment Outcome"],["dc.subject.mesh","Visual Acuity"],["dc.title","Morphological and functional outcome after brilliant blue G-assisted macular hole surgery."],["dc.type","journal_article"],["dc.type.internalPublication","yes"],["dc.type.version","published_version"],["dspace.entity.type","Publication"]]
