The resulting land cover maps have been evaluated with regard to the statisticalaccuracy and the overall data quality related to user requirements. The annual landcover change analysis shows a severe increase in tropical deforestation rates within thestudy area from a long term annual mean of 0.3% per year (1972 to 2002) to a rate of0.56% per year for the study period of 1999 to 2002. The main drivers of forestconversion in the study region are identified as agricultural expansion of perennialcropping systems (cacao) and illegal clear-cut logging of natural forest at the rainforestmargin."],["dc.identifier.uri","https://resolver.sub.uni-goettingen.de/purl?gro-2/64999"],["dc.language.iso","en"],["dc.publisher","Milpress"],["dc.publisher.place","Rotterdam"],["dc.relation.ispartof","New Developments and Challenges in Remote Sensing"],["dc.title","Monitoring inter-annual land cover dynamics at therainforest margin in Central Sulawesi, Indonesia"],["dc.type","book_chapter"],["dc.type.internalPublication","yes"],["dspace.entity.type","Publication"]]
