This literature has received major impetus, first from the introduction of increasingly sophisticated co-integration methods since the late 1980s, and second from the so-called food price crisis of 2007–2008, which heightened interest in the transmission of food price spikes in space and along the supply chain. In this paper I review the literature on price transmission and market integration, highlighting applications in an African setting. I begin by reviewing the basic methods that are commonly used in price transmission analysis, as well as several extensions that have gained prevalence in recent years. I then discuss several important limitations and challenges that remain to be addressed in future research on price transmission and market integration."],["dc.identifier.doi","10.1080/03031853.2017.1295655"],["dc.identifier.uri","https://resolver.sub.uni-goettingen.de/purl?gro-2/15772"],["dc.language.iso","en"],["dc.notes.status","final"],["dc.relation.eissn","2078-0400"],["dc.relation.issn","0303-1853"],["dc.title","The analysis of market integration and price transmission – results and implications in an African context"],["dc.type","journal_article"],["dc.type.internalPublication","unknown"],["dspace.entity.type","Publication"]]Details DOI2016Journal Article [["dc.bibliographiccitation.firstpage","135"],["dc.bibliographiccitation.journal","Social Science Research"],["dc.bibliographiccitation.lastpage","147"],["dc.bibliographiccitation.volume","60"],["dc.contributor.author","Liebe, Ulf"],["dc.contributor.author","Hundeshagen, Cordula"],["dc.contributor.author","Beyer, Heiko"],["dc.contributor.author","von Cramon-Taubadel, Stephan"],["dc.date.accessioned","2018-11-07T10:06:48Z"],["dc.date.available","2018-11-07T10:06:48Z"],["dc.date.issued","2016"],["dc.description.abstract","In stated preference studies it is assumed that individuals' answers reflect true preferences and are stable over time. We test these two assumptions of validity and reliability using as an example a choice experiment study on ethical consumption that measures preferences for a Peace Product jointly produced by Israeli and Palestinian producers as well as for organic products. In a web survey conducted in Germany, we investigate the validity assumption by manipulating the question context and presenting one group of respondents with questions on anti-Semitic and anti-Arabic attitudes before the choice tasks, and presenting another group with these questions after the choice tasks. In order to test the assumption of temporal stability, the same experimental set-up was repeated in a second survey based on a new sample ten months after the first. However, prior to the second survey an external event, a major violent dispute between Israelis and the Palestinians occurred. Overall, we find evidence for a context effect but not for temporal instability. In both surveys, the placement of the attitudinal questions before the choice tasks has a positive effect on the valuation of products from Israel, Palestinian products and the Peace Product (i.e. a directional context effect). The respondents seem to act according to an anti-discrimination norm. In line with this reasoning, we find an attention shift caused by the attitudinal questions. Organic products are valued much less positively if discriminatory attitudes are surveyed before the choice tasks. Furthermore, despite the violent dispute, stated preferences are very stable over time. This indicates high reliability of stated preference studies and encourages the use of study results by private and public decision makers. (C) 2016 Elsevier Inc. It. is not only important because it may point to also because its presence is often considered for policy put-poses to be evidence of market failure. In this paper we survey the literature on asymmetric price transmission. A wide variety of often conflicting theories of, and empirical tests for, asymmetry co-exist in this literature. We classifiy the different types and causes of asymmetric price transmission and describe the econometric techniques used to quantify it. We also briefly review the results of empirical applications. Outstanding methodological problems and suggestions for future research are discussed. Our main conclusion is that the existing literature is far from being unified or conclusive, and that it has often been largely method-driven, with little attention devoted to theoretical underpinnings and the plausible imeiPretation of results. The evidence in the literature points to significant heterogeneity of technical efficiency and productivity scores in Ukraine. Moreover, both the recently approved WTO accession, and the ongoing negotiations on a free trade agreement with the EU will require further improvements in productivity and competitiveness at the farm level. Using farm-level data for 2004-2005, we study the presence and possible causes of agglomeration economies in Ukrainian dairy sector. One of the most important results is that there are agglomeration effects in the sector. The performance of dairy farms is influenced by the performance of its neighbors. Furthermore, the dairy farms in the neighborhood of a dairy processor outperform the more distant ones, although the heterogeneity of this effect is substantial."],["dc.identifier.uri","https://resolver.sub.uni-goettingen.de/purl?gro-2/13185"],["dc.language.iso","en"],["dc.notes.preprint","yes"],["dc.notes.status","final"],["dc.relation.conference","116TH EAAE SEMINAR \"Spatial Dynamics in Agri-food Systems: Implications for Sustainability and Consumer Welfare\""],["dc.relation.eventend","October 30th, 2010"],["dc.relation.eventlocation","Parma, Italy"],["dc.relation.eventstart","October 27th, 2010"],["dc.relation.iserratumof","yes"],["dc.title","Agglomeration Economies in Ukrainian Dairy Sector: a Marked Point Process Approach"],["dc.type","conference_paper"],["dc.type.internalPublication","unknown"],["dspace.entity.type","Publication"]]Details2020Journal Article Research Paper [["dc.bibliographiccitation.firstpage","106605"],["dc.bibliographiccitation.journal","Ecological Economics"],["dc.bibliographiccitation.volume","171"],["dc.contributor.author","De los Santos-Montero, Luis A."],["dc.contributor.author","Bravo-Ureta, Boris E."],["dc.contributor.author","von Cramon-Taubadel, Stephan"],["dc.contributor.author","Hasiner, Eva"],["dc.date.accessioned","2020-12-10T14:23:33Z"],["dc.date.available","2020-12-10T14:23:33Z"],["dc.date.issued","2020"],["dc.identifier.doi","10.1016/j.ecolecon.2020.106605"],["dc.identifier.issn","0921-8009"],["dc.identifier.uri","https://resolver.sub.uni-goettingen.de/purl?gro-2/71963"],["dc.language.iso","en"],["dc.notes.intern","DOI Import GROB-354"],["dc.relation.workinggroup","RTG 2654: Sustainable Food Systems (Related Publications)"],["dc.title","The performance of natural resource management interventions in agriculture: Evidence from alternative meta-regression analyses"],["dc.type","journal_article"],["dc.type.internalPublication","yes"],["dc.type.subtype","original_ja"],["dspace.entity.type","Publication"]]Details DOI2009Conference Paper [["dc.bibliographiccitation.firstpage","1432"],["dc.bibliographiccitation.issue","5"],["dc.bibliographiccitation.journal","American Journal of Agricultural Economics"],["dc.bibliographiccitation.lastpage","1439"],["dc.bibliographiccitation.volume","91"],["dc.contributor.author","Ihle, Rico"],["dc.contributor.author","von Cramon-Taubadel, Stephan"],["dc.contributor.author","Zorya, Sergiy"],["dc.date.accessioned","2018-11-07T11:21:12Z"],["dc.date.available","2018-11-07T11:21:12Z"],["dc.date.issued","2009"],["dc.identifier.doi","10.1111/j.1467-8276.2009.01360.x"],["dc.identifier.isi","000271972800045"],["dc.identifier.uri","https://resolver.sub.uni-goettingen.de/purl?gro-2/55720"],["dc.notes.status","zu prüfen"],["dc.notes.submitter","Najko"],["dc.publisher","Wiley-blackwell Publishing, Inc"],["dc.publisher.place","Malden"],["dc.relation.conference","Annual Meeting of the Agricultural-and-Applied-Economics-Association"],["dc.relation.eventlocation","Milwaukee, WI"],["dc.relation.issn","0002-9092"],["dc.title","Markov-Switching Estimation of Spatial Maize Price Transmission Processes between Tanzania and Kenya"],["dc.type","conference_paper"],["dc.type.internalPublication","yes"],["dc.type.peerReviewed","yes"],["dc.type.status","published"],["dspace.entity.type","Publication"]]Details DOI WOS2012Journal Article [["dc.bibliographiccitation.firstpage","785"],["dc.bibliographiccitation.issue","8"],["dc.bibliographiccitation.journal","Applied Economics Letters"],["dc.bibliographiccitation.lastpage","788"],["dc.bibliographiccitation.volume","19"],["dc.contributor.author","Bakucs, Lajos Zoltán"],["dc.contributor.author","Brümmer, Bernhard"],["dc.contributor.author","Cramon-Taubadel, Stephan von"],["dc.contributor.author","Fertő, Imre"],["dc.date.accessioned","2018-01-08T15:07:26Z"],["dc.date.available","2018-01-08T15:07:26Z"],["dc.date.issued","2012"],["dc.description.abstract","The aim of this article is to analyse the price transmission between German and Hungarian wheat producer prices using weekly prices.
