Although most IT solutions have in the meantime become relatively effective, farmers continue to favour the more traditional channels of communication (post, fax etc.). This article addresses the lack of acceptance of internet- based, inter-organisational information systems on the basis of the results of a survey of 873 pig farmers. The statistical analysis is based on an exploratory model, in which not only determinants from acceptance research, but also constructs specifically tailored to inter-organisational information systems are investigated. The results were validated using a binarylogistic regression analysis.
