My talk comprised aspects of intellectual property rights and licenses, forms of open access, what authors can to to make OA happen and what Open Science means, especially against the backdrop of research integrity. model for Open Access that can be adopted as standard. It describes the current landscape in which
there are multiple approaches to OA publishing, many of which are adopted by OPERAS members
to suit their particular circumstances, although the APC and BPC models still predominate especially
among commercial publishers. The paper describes the business models adopted by members both
from the point of view of publishers, and of service providers such as Knowledge Unlatched, as well
as looking at models emerging elsewhere such as in the USA and at national level in some European
countries, where interesting collaborative approaches are being undertaken. The paper analyses the
pros and cons of different models, and concludes with some suggestions for ways of bringing greater

The Annual meeting of the association takes place during the Frankfurt Book fair. This year’s annual meeting was held on Thursday, October 17, from 2 till 4 pm. From 2 till 3 pm, it was a members only assembly. Topics were the AEUP activities report, reports on economic status, 2nd AEUP Conference in Brno Czech Republic, 13–14 June 2019, survey, strategies etc. From 3 till 4 pm, the meeting was open to all interested parties.
